Message from Superintendent

The City of Carson Parks and Recreation Department provides residents with a complete system of community and neighborhood parks, facilities, and a wide range of recreational opportunities for the constructive use of leisure time. The Department provides a unique balance of human services programming that assist individuals, youth and families. The Department provides focused programs that emphasizes on providing positive alternatives and directions.

The City of Carson Parks and Recreation Department invites you to join us in our programs and activities which serve people of all ages and abilities. We encourage you to take the opportunity to meet new friends and neighbors, explore the arts, learn about community services, and develop new skills and so much more!

The City of Carson, Centerview Glen Avalon Homeowner Association and many volunteers are looking foward to the Community Build Day on September 29, 2010 for Walnut Mini Park. The entire Community wants to thank KaBOOM!, L. A. Kings, Dustin and Nicole Brown Foundation, and Farmer John for the opportunity to build a new playground in our community. LET'S HAVE FUN IN THE SUN!!

Volunteer Information

Call the Parks & Recreation Department office at 310-847-3570 to request an application.

The Youth Sports program need volunteers to assist as coaches and assistant coaches. If you have always wanted to coach, now is your opportunity to do so. In addition to the positive experience gained from coaching, volunteers also receive discounted rates on membership at the Veterans SportsComplex. For more information on becoming a Youth Sports volunteer, contact your local park.
