Miss Carson & Miss Teen Carson Scholarship Pageant of Excellence and Little Miss Carson Princesses Takes Center Stage on April 28

The search is on for young Carson females who will be crowned as the 2017 Miss Carson and Miss Teen Carson.

The winners will be selected at a pageant scheduled for Friday, April 28, at 6 p.m. at the Congresswoman Juanita Millender-McDonald Community Center, located at 801 E. Carson Street in Carson.

Candidates will compete in the areas of active and evening wear, talent, and question and answer. Seats are available for purchase to attend the event at $3 per person pre-sale, $5 per person at the door for ages 4-11. For ages 12 and up, tickets is $5 per person pre-sale, $7 per person at the door. Admission is free for ages 3 and under.

The crowned 2017 Miss Carson will receive a $2,000 scholarship and Miss Teen Carson will a $1,000 scholarship, in addition to many other prizes. They will also get the opportunity to represent the City of Carson in the Miss California and Miss Teen California Pageant, as well as in various city events.

“All the contestants of the 2017 Miss Carson and Miss Teen Carson have already built a firm foundation for success simply by competing,” said Carson’s Mayor Albert Robles. “All of them are winners. They have gained the value of confidence, discipline, public speaking, as well as the rewards of cooperation and fruitfulness of perseverance,“ added Robles.

Little Miss Princesses of Carson will also share the spotlight and shine on stage with the Miss Carson and Miss Teen Carson pageant contestants as part of the Little Miss Carson Princess program.

The Little Miss Carson program is a non-competitive mentoring program where every girl between the ages of 6-12 has the opportunity to learn etiquette, presentation skills, dance routines and make new friends.

All princesses will also receive a tiara, sash, a t-shirt and their photo will be in the scholarship pageant of excellence program book.
