Brief Description of Services to be Provided
Youth services are comprehensive, integrated, and youth focused. Programs provide activities for eligible youth seeking assistance in achieving academic and employment success. Activities, include a variety of options for improving educational and skill competencies also providing effective connections to employers.


Bridge to Work Youth Employment & Exploration Program
(Serving youth 14-21 years of age, who live in the cities of Hawthorne, Inglewood, Lawndale, El Segundo, Gardena, Carson, Lennox and Redondo Beach)

The Bridge To Work program is a formal collaboration that uses a comprehensive approach assisting youth via employment preparation (vocational instruction and hands-on work experiences), conflict resolution training, and mediation services that addresses the need for skills to interact positively in the workplace, at home and in the community.

Target Population/Eligibility
Youth - Such individuals shall be considered eligible to participate if he/she is:
  • Low income
  • Between the ages of 14-21 years of age
  • Resides in the local workforce investment area and
  • Fall within one or more of the following categories:
    • Deficient in basic literacy skills
    • School dropout
    • Homeless, runaway, or foster child
    • Pregnant or parenting
    • Offender
