ANALYSIS FOR ADULT CROSSING GUARDS - INTERSECTION OF CARSON AND BONITA STREETS
(DEVELOPMENT SERVICES)
RECOMMENDATION
for the City Council:
TAKE
the following actions:
1.
ASSIGN
two adult crossing guards to the intersection of Carson and Bonita Streets for
a trial period of three months (to the end of the current school year), and
evaluate the City's policy regarding the eligible grades for crossing guards
after the trial period is complete
2.
APPROPRIATE
$7,000 from the unreserved, undesignated general fund balance to cover the
costs of the two adult crossing guards at the intersection of Carson and Bonita
Streets.

the second amendment to the Agreement for Paratransit and Dial-A-Ride Services
between the City of Carson and Administrative Services Cooperative, Inc. to
continue service agreement on a month-to-month basis.
2.
AUTHORIZE
Mayor to enter into and execute a second amendment to the Agreement for Paratransit
Services between the City of Carson and Administrative Services Cooperative,
Inc. subsequent to approval as to form by City Attorney.
3.
INSTRUCT
staff to conduct program review and recommendation and prepare solicitation
documents for new term contract award for approval and subsequent release.

SHUTTLE PROGRAM (DEVELOPMENT SERVICES)

AUTHORIZE
the revision of the North/South Shuttle transportation program to include: a)
extension of service to the Artesia Transit Center; and, b) revision of service
hours to weekdays "peak-hour" operation only effective April 1, 2005.
2.
APPROPRIATE
an additional $39,000 from the unreserved, undesignated general fund balance to
cover the costs of the current and revised North/South Shuttle program
operations through June 30, 2005.
3.
INSTRUCT
staff to perform revised service performance assessment through June 2005 and
report to Council for reauthorization in FY 2005/06.
