ITEM NO. (8)                      CONSIDERATION OF APPROVAL OF A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT BY AND BETWEEN THE CARSON REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY AND ALLIED PACIFIC BUILDERS FOR RENOVATION OF LEASED SPACE TO BE OCCUPIED BY THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT WORK GROUP AT ONE CIVIC PLAZA DRIVE, CARSON, CALIFORNIA (ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT) (THIS IS A JOINT AGENDA ITEM)

RECOMMENDATION for the Redevelopment Agency:

TAKE the following actions:

1.                  APPROVE the construction contract with Allied Pacific Builders for tenant improvement work at One Civic Plaza Drive for a cost not to exceed $130,840.00.

2.                  AUTHORIZE the Agency Chairman to execute the construction contract upon approval as to form by the Agency Counsel.

3.                  APPROVE a 15% contingency totaling $19,626.00 to be set aside outside the construction contract for unforeseen items.

ACTION:

ITEM NO. (9)                      APPROVAL OF THE FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH PARSONS TRANSPORTATION GROUP INC. FOR PROJECT NO. 919:  WILMINGTON AVENUE INTERCHANGE MODIFICATION AT THE I 405 FREEWAY (DEVELOPMENT SERVICES)

RECOMMENDATION for the Redevelopment Agency:

TAKE the following actions:

1.                  APPROVE the First Amendment to the Professional Services Agreement with Parsons Transportation Group Inc. to reflect an increase in the scope of work, for a negotiated fee not-to-exceed $96,972.21.

2.                  AUTHORIZE the Agency Chairman to execute the First Amendment to the Professional Services Agreement following approval as to form by the Agency Counsel.

ITEM NO. (10)                  APPROVAL TO AMEND THE PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH CHRISTINE M. KETZ FOR PLANNING CONSULTANT SERVICES  (DEVELOPMENT SERVICES)

RECOMMENDATION for the Redevelopment Agency:

TAKE the following actions:

1.                  APPROVE the Third Amendment to the Professional Services Agreement with Christine M. Ketz to increase the contract sum by an amount not-to-exceed $50,000.00

2.                  AUTHORIZE the Agency Chairman to execute the Third Amendment to the Professional Services Agreement following approval as to form by the Agency Counsel.

ITEM NO. (11)                  CONSIDERATION OF AWARD OF A LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE CONTRACT FOR CARSON REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY-OWNED PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF CARSON, CALIFORNIA  (ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT)

RECOMMENDATION for the Redevelopment Agency:

TAKE the following actions:

1.                  AWARD the two-year landscape maintenance Contract Services Agreement to the lowest responsive bidder, ALD Landscape and Maintenance, Inc., of Harbor City, California in the amount of $26,700.00

2.                  AUTHORIZE the Agency Chairman to execute said landscape maintenance Contract Services Agreement following approval as to form by the Agency Counsel.
