TAKE the following actions:

RECOMMENDATION for the City Council:

TAKE the following actions:

1.                  APPROVE the plans, specifications, and estimates for Project No. 1145.

2.                  INSTRUCT staff to advertise the work and call for bids for Project No. 1145:  Traffic Signal Installation at the intersection of Main Street and 231st Street.

(10)                    RESOLUTION NO. 08-029, APPROVING AND ACCEPTING THE NEGOTIATED EXCHANGE OF PROPERTY TAX REVENUES RESULTING FROM ANNEXATION OF L 096-2007 TO COUNTY LIGHTING MAINTENANCE DISTRICT 1697; AND RESOLUTION NO. 08-030, A RESOLUTION GRANTING CONSENT AND JURISDICTION TO THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES IN THE MATTER OF COUNTY LIGHTING MAINTENANCE DISTRICT 1697 AND COUNTY LIGHTING DISTRICT LLA-1, CARSON ZONE, CITY OF CARSON L 096-2007  (DEVELOPMENT SERVICES)

RECOMMENDATION for the City Council:

TAKE the following actions:

1.                  WAIVE further reading and ADOPT Resolution No. 08-029, "A JOINT RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES; THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE GREATER LOS ANGELES COUNTY VECTOR CONTROL DISTRICT; THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE COUNTY SANITATION DISTRICT NO. 8 OF LOS ANGELES COUNTY (COUNTY SANITATION DISTRICT NO. 8); THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON, CALIFORNIA; AND THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE WATER REPLENISHMENT DISTRICT OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA APPROVING AND ACCEPTING THE NEGOTIATED EXCHANGE OF PROPERTY     TAX  REVENUES  RESULTING  FROM  ANNEXATION OF  L 096-2007 TO COUNTY LIGHTING MAINTENANCE DISTRICT 1697."

ITEM NO. (11)                    LIMITED STREET CLOSURE FOR THE ELEVENTH ANNUAL AIDS WALK - SATURDAY, APRIL 26, 2008  (DEVELOPMENT SERVICES)

RECOMMENDATION for the City Council:

1.                  APPROVE a limited street closure of portions of University Drive, Central Avenue, Victoria Street, and Wilmington Avenue in the vicinity of California State University, Dominguez Hills, on Saturday, April 26, 2008, subject to the provision of Sheriff's Department escorts and posting of the required $1 million dollar general liability insurance certificate.

1.                  RENEW the agreement for an additional one-year period with Enforcement Technology Inc., to provide parking citation processing services for the city of Carson, in an amount not-to-exceed $88,300.00.

ITEM NO. (15)                    APPROVE THE PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF A GATE TO BE PLACED AT THE 222ND STREET ENTRANCE INTO CALAS PARK  (PUBLIC SERVICES)

1.                  APPROVE the purchase and installation of a gate to be placed at the 222nd Street entrance into Calas Park.

2.                  APPROVE a transfer of $1,100.00 from the city's contingency account to cover the costs of the purchase and installation of the gate.
