CITY OF CARSON EXTENDS EMERGENCY RENTAL ASSISTANCE UNTIL FUNDS ARE EXHAUSTED

The City of Carson is extending its one-time Emergency Rental Assistance (ERA) to individuals and families renting in Carson and financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic until funds run out.

The financial assistance is available for up to a maximum of $10,000 and based on actual need for monthly rent payment, and does not have to be repaid.

Per City Council direction to assist Carson renters directly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, staff has developed the following rental assistance program for renters who:

• Meet the income qualification (less than $63,100 for individuals and up to $90,100 for a family of 4)
• Demonstrate financial hardship due to COVID-19, such as loss of employment, reduction of work hours, or reduced wages.

The City is excited to announce this second round of funding for the rental assistance program,” said Carson Mayor Albert Robles.
