Press Releases Share Print #20-002 Carson Remembers MLK with a Tribute The City of Carson will be presenting its Annual Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with an evening celebration in honor of the late civic leader. The event is scheduled for January 17 at 6 p.m. at the Congresswoman Juanita Millender McDonald Community Center located at 801 E. Carson Street in Carson. Admission is free and open to the public. This year’s entertainment includes performances by Sophisticated Dance and Rapha Music, and inspirational words from Dr. Michael J. Fisher. “We celebrate the valuable contributions Dr. King made to civil rights, personal freedom, and justice everywhere,” said Carson Mayor Albert Robles. “We are proud to present this wonderful event in celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday.” The Martin Luther King, Jr. event is an annual year-opener for the City of Carson.
