CITY OF CARSON PREPAREDNESS FOR CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19)

CARSON (Monday, March 16, 2020)
The City of Carson has officially started implementing the Governor’s Executive Order regarding preparedness and prevention of COVID-19 (aka the coronavirus). Accordingly the following City operational changes were made:
1) Cancelled all public events;
2) Cancelled all senior activities;
3) Posted signage on proper hand-washing and responsible social distancing;
4) All restaurants and retail food facilities are prohibited from serving food to dine-in customers;
5) Houses of worship urged to limit large gatherings on their premises and implement ways to practice their respective faiths while observing social distancing practices;
6) Grocery stores, pharmacies, and food banks are also allowed to continue operations;
and
7) Teleconference of Council meetings starting March 17, 2020.

“Everyone is watching with great concern how the Coronavirus is wreaking havoc everywhere. My thoughts and prayers are with those stricken with this illness,” said Carson Mayor Albert Robles. “The City is taking every precaution to limit the spread of the virus by sharing every prevention measures like frequent hand-washing, staying home when sick, and proper social distancing. We are also following the executive order to the maximum extent possible through accelerated planning and coordinating across government agencies,” added Mayor Robles.
