City of Carson Celebrates Black History Month February 21

The City of Carson will be hosting an evening of non-stop performances on Friday, February 21, 2020 as Carson joins the nation in commemorating Black History Month.

The Black History Celebration will take place on February 21st at 6:00 p.m. at the Congresswoman Juanita Millender-McDonald Community Center, located at 801 E. Carson Street in Carson. The event is open to the public and admission is free.

This year’s event features a host of musical selections, dance, art, sports, fashion, and culture with the theme, A Philly Soul Experience. The City is proud to have as our special guest and headliner, recording artist Greg Rose. The program also includes educational displays and historical facts.

“The City of Carson is proud of our rich cultural heritage that enhances the lives of our residents and visitors. I encourage everyone to come to this year’s celebration and enjoy the performances,“ said Carson’s Mayor Albert Robles.

Black History Month is celebrated throughout the month of February to reflect on the teachings and pay tribute to African Americans who have made significant contributions to the American culture.
