Parks Building Maintenance

Parks Building Maintenance is under the supervision of Mr. Narciso Peralta, Buildings Maintenance Supervisor. Mr. Peralta supervises 15 full-time and 4 part-time employees and he is responsible for the buildings maintenance program at 12 parks, 3 mini parks, the Corporate Yard offices and warehouses, and 3 swimming pools.

The parks building maintenance crew maintains 185,696 sq. ft. of park/facility buildings and offices, as well as maintenance of all sports, security and parking lot lighting; tennis and basketball courts; public address systems; park signage; scoreboards; picnic shelters and tables; barbecue pits; drinking fountains; and all other interior and exterior building related items on park/facility grounds. Year round this crew supports a variety of recreation and citywide events such as the Jazz Festival, Halloween Carnivals, Unity Day, Juneteenth, Cinco-De-Mayo, etc. Mr. Peralta also responds to emergency requests from the Building and Safety Department for barricading of private property.

Mr. Narciso Peralta came to the city of Carson in November 2000 as an Electrician under the general buildings maintenance program. Mr. Peralta is retired from the Navy as a Sr. Chief Petty Officer, and he worked for the Border Patrol as well as many other private-sector companies. Collectively Mr. Peralta has over 36 years of experience in buildings maintenance; he was promoted to supervisor in March 2004.
