5 Tips for Weekend Willpower

1. Don’t Ditch Your Diet: You worked hard all week, do not allow the weekend to be an excuse to eat badly. Cut up veggies and fruit at the beginning of the weekend and place in fridge for snacking during the day. If you will be out running errands, bring a healthy snack with you so that you don’t choose fast food.
2. Try Something New: Check out your gym’s weekend group exercise schedule for a class you normally wouldn't attend, or get outside and walk, run, bike, swim, skate, or hike. Try it...you just might like it!
3. Fill Up on Water: Do you find that you do not drink enough water on the weekend because you are out of your normal routine? Fill up your water bottles and take them wherever you go. 
4. Rewards: Keep motivated by rewarding yourself with non-food related rewards. For example, if you hit the gym Saturday morning for cardio and/or weights, treat yourself to a pedicure or massage afterward. It will give you something to look forward to and will keep you motivated during your workout. 
5. Plan some “Me” Time: It is very important to take time to relax and clear your mind and body; to ease the stress and weekday craziness. Black pen in at least an hour each day to do something for YOU. Read a book, take a hot bubble bath, meditate, take a yoga class, or just lay down and listen to relaxing music. You will be surprised at how good it feels and how refreshed you will be.
