The City Treasurer's office, under the direction of the elected City Treasurer, has the statutory duty of receiving and safely
keeping all monies coming into the city. The City Treasurer also acts as the treasurer for the Carson Redevelopment Agency.
The treasurer carries out this responsibility in compliance with the state law governing the depositing and securing of public
funds and the handling of all funds in her possession. In addition, the treasurer prepares the daily cash report for the
finance director and the redevelopment agency; safeguards all blank checks and receipts; submits monthly reports for
accounting of receipts, disbursements, and fund balances to the City Council and the City Clerk. The City Treasurer is
responsible for the preparation of an investment policy and for the management of the city and agency's portfolios.
