Civic Center Building Maintenance

Civic Center Building Maintenance and Citywide Graffiti Abatement under the supervision of Mr. Tony Schifano, Buildings Maintenance Supervisor.. Mr. Schifano supervises 11 full-time and 1 part-time employee and he is responsible for the buildings maintenance program at City Hall, and the Juanita Millender-McDonald Community Center which expands over 133,058 sq. ft.; his crew also maintains all exterior building and parking lot lighting; signage; and all other building related items on the interior and exterior of the Civic Center. In addition, Mr. Schifano supervises the citywide graffiti abatement program which expands over the city's 19.2 square miles. Mr. Schifano's crews also support a few on/off site city events and set-ups for other departments, such as, Unity Day, citywide election, etc.
Mr. Tony Schifano came to the city of Carson in May 2005 as an Electrician under the general buildings maintenance program. Mr. Schifano, prior to coming to the city was self-employed and owned his own Commercial and Industrial Electrical Contracting Company. In March 2008, he was promoted to supervisor.
