Press Releases Share Print #21-018 City of Carson & CSUDH Partner to Offer the Town and Gown Promise CARSON MAYOR TO SIGN OFF ON AGREEMENT WITH CALSTATE DOMINGUEZ HILLS TO ADVANCE CARSON COMMUNITY AND UNIVERSITYWHAT:Mayor Lula Davis-Holmes and President Thomas Parham are set to sign the Town and Gown Promise that focuses on three areas: 1) Lead and manage operational relationship between the City and University;2) Establish a task force comprised of City and University executive leadership to implement mutually benefitting projects, programs and initiatives for the enhancement, enrichment and progression of the community and University; 3) Elevate communication between the community and Campus. The Town and Gown Promise is the first agreement of its kind that the City of Carson and Cal State Dominguez will be formally committing to since both were incorporated in the 1960s.“It is important that we carefully plan in unison with the University to enhance our projects and programs while moving the City of Carson forward.
