Brief Description of Services Provided:
Workforce investment services for eligible adults seeking assistance in achieving academic and employment success, effective and comprehensive activities, which include a variety of options for improving educational and competencies providing effective connections to employers in the City of Carson and surrounding communities.

Target Population/Eligibility
Adults - Such individuals shall be considered eligible to participate if he/she is:
  • Eighteen (18) years of age or older
  • Have the right to work in the United States
  • Have selective service registration (male only) and
  • Fall within one or more of the following categories:
    • Offender
    • Disabled
    • Older Worker
    • Low Income


DISLOCATED WORKERS
Laid-off workers laid off either due to plant closure or downsizing, or who have been out of work for prolonged periods, may be eligible to receive retraining/transition services including on-the-job training, classroom training or customized training in demand occupations. Training for dislocated workers is designed to re-employ individuals by developing and matching transferable skills with job opportunities in growth industries.
