A Message from the Director of Community Services
On behalf of the City of Carson Community Services Department, we would like to wish you a wonderful Holiday Season. It is a marvelous time of year to spend quality time with friends and family. May yours be filled with happiness, good health and good cheer.

As the year comes to a close, allow me to express our sincere gratitude to all of our employees. Our department would not be as vibrant and successful without their hard work and dedication. Let's also take a moment to thank every single volunteer for our department. The positive spirit and energy of our volunteers is crucial in making our department run so smoothly. We would also like to take this time to thank all of the commissioners serving on the various commissions, committees and boards throughout the city. Their time and valuable input also helps our Community Services Department be one of the best in California.

The winter season bring various activities indoors. Our sports focus will shift to basketball. Contact your local park for more information on getting involved. We are always looking for new volunteers. Please sign up at your local park or recreation facility.

This is open-enrollment time for our Early Childhood program. If you have a child who is beginning school in the coming year, this program is a wonderful opportunity for him or her to get a head start. Our program prides itself on providing your child the tools necessary to lay the paving stones for a solid scholastic path. They will not only learn the fundamentals of math and language skills, but will also gain social interaction experience with peers and teachers.
