Encroachment Permit

An encroachment permit is required any time there is work being done within the public right-of-way. Below is a list of items that require an encroachment permit.
  • Lane closures
  • Well monitoring
  • Vault access
  • Placing aerial cable on existing utility poles
  • Temporary parking

All other items not listed above need approval from Engineering Services.

FOR ALL ENGINEERING SERVICES REALATED PERMITS, APPLICANT MUST SCHEDULE FOR AN INSPECTION TWO WORKING DAYS BEFORE THE START OF WORK. FINAL INSPECTION REQUIRED FOR ALL PERMITS.

  • Inspection Staff are scheduled Monday-Friday from 8am-3pm.
  • Scheduling Staff are available Monday-Thursday from 7am-6pm.
  • You will be contacted via email within 2 hours to confirm inspection.
  • Failure to confirm inspection within 24 hours may result in cancellation.
  • To cancel inspection, email pwinspection@carsonca.gov by 8am the latest the day of scheduled inspection or call the Construction Inspector Supervisor at (949) 300-4529.
  • For emergency jobs, please call the Construction Inspector Supervisor directly at (949) 300-4529.
