These resolutions demonstrate the City Council's committment to create a drug-free and human trafficking-free atmosphere in the City of Carson and a pro-active effort in making the public aware that these criminal activities will not be tolerated in our city. Residents who have concerns about either of these issues are urged to call the county's 2-1-1 information line. The Public Safety Services Center is an extension of the City of Carson Public Safety Department and the Sheriff’s Department Community Relations Office. It is designed to promote crime prevention awareness and increase service accessibility to the community. The Public Safety Services Center is an excellent resource for information. It was designed to enhance networking and communication between the Carson Sheriff’s Station, The City of Carson, and the Carson community. Services provided by the Public Safety Services Center include: Neighborhood/Business/Park Watch Information on: Crime Prevention Robbery and Burglary Prevention Personal Safety Disaster Preparedness Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Graffiti Abatement Program Council Agendas Provides referrals and resources in the areas of: Code Enforcement / City Codes Youth Services Public Safety Family Violence Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Senior Citizens Sheriff’s Programs Metro Bus Schedules and Information Community Center Leisure Activities Park Activities Public Works Safety Tips Gangs/Gun Violence/Graffiti The STREET SMART (gang alternative program) is facilitated through our Public Safety Specialist. The 9-week program is taught in all of the Carson middle schools and the program has successfully graduated over 4600 students over the past 8 years. The Public Safety Services Specialists assists in scheduling, agendas, providing a location and guest speakers for Community Watch / Business Watch / Park Watch / Homeowner's Association meetings and various Crime Prevention / First Aid /CPR and Block Captains Quarterly Trainings.
