  • Don't run after the bus.
  • The bus will open its door once it has come to a complete stop for you to board.
  • Watch our step as you board the bus.
  • Look for the emergency exits as you board.
On the bus
  • Use overhead handrails to find a seat.
  • Take a seat.
  • If there aren't enough seats to go around, stand BEHIND the yellow line.
  • Do NOT stand on the steps.
  • Don't put your head or arms out the window.
  • There is no eating, drinking, or smoking on the bus.
  • Be considerate to other riders. Don't rest your feet on a seat or play radios that can disturb others.

Getting off the bus
  • Prepare to leave when you're one stop away from your exit.
  • Depending on where you are sitting or standing, use the front or back door to exit.
  • Use the handrails to get off the bus, just as you used them to board.
  • Watch when you step off the bus.
  • As soon as you have exited, step away from the bus.
  • If you drop something on the ground, don't pick it up until the bus has driven away.
Some basic safety tips
  • Stop, look both ways and listen before you cross the street.
  • Cross at a corner or use a crosswalk.
  • Be on the lookout for cars with drivers using a cell phone.
