Ridership Policy

For your safety and the safety of others, please comply with our Ridership Policy. Should you have any concerns, complaints, or suggestions, please notify the Transportation Supervisor at (310) 952-1757. Bus operators are instructed to elevate any issues of immediate danger or safety to the Carson Sheriff Department (310) 830-1123
Waiting & boarding the bus
  • When you see the bus coming, stand up and/or wave your hand to acknowledge the bus operator and be ready to board.
  • Please wait and stand back at least 2-3 feet behind the sidewalk curb until the bus has come to a complete stop.
  • Please watch your step as you board the bus.
  • Do not run after the bus for any reason.
Onboard conduct
  • Refusing to pay the fare will result in the refusal to offer service.
  • Be respectful to the bus operator and other riders.
  • Eating, drinking, and/or smoking is not permitted on the bus.
  • Please use the overhead handrails for your support.
  • Do not place your head or arms/legs outside of the window.
  • Do NOT confront unruly patrons.
  • If you see someone acting suspiciously, or witness anything unusual, please stay away and notify the bus operator in a timely and safe manner.
  • Zero tolerance for acts of misconduct to include but not limited to: Littering, yelling, fighting, unwanted physical contact, blocking aisles and/or walkways, indecent exposure, spitting, urinating, defecating, threats, harassment, fighting, engaging in unreasonably loud conversations.
  • Open food containers or drinks are not allowed onboard unless they are sealed.
  • Absolutely no knives or fire arms, fire-lighting devices, and/or flammable liquids.
  • Only riders with disabilities may bring service animals as permitted by the Americans with Disabilities Act and all other applicable State/Federal laws and regulations.
  • Pets for comfort, emotional support, companionship, and/or therapy are not considered service animals and they are not allowed onboard. 49 C.F.R. Section 37.167(d).
Getting off the bus
  • Prepare to get off at your stop by pulling down on the request cord above your seat and/or notify the bus operator.
  • Please use the overhead handrails for your support.
  • Please watch your step as you exit the bus.
  • Upon exiting, please stand back and wait for the bus to leave before crossing the street.
Safety tips
  • Stop, look both ways and listen before you cross the street.
  • Cross at a corner or use a crosswalk.
  • Be on the lookout for cars with drivers using a cell phone.
