Real Estate Broker and Salesmen

Each Real Estate Broker conducting business in the City of Carson is required to obtain a city business license.  Within the business license broker packet, the broker shall list each real estate salesperson and their corresponding real estate license number.

The Real Estate Broker report is due annually, along with the business license renewal.  The broker report is considered delinquent if not filed by 6:00 p.m. on the tenth (10) business day after the business license expiration date.  For each week or a portion of a week that the broker report is not filed, a $70.00 penalty fee is assessed.  The maximum penalty fee cannot exceed $490.00 for each annual report.  If the broker report does not identify a salesperson as an agent of the broker's office, and the salesperson is engaged in any type of real estate business activity in the City of Carson, a $175.00 is assessed to the broker.

Any salesman/agent who conducts any real estate activity in the City of Carson must obtain a separate business license.
