City of Carson’s Month-Long Campaign for Breast Cancer Awareness Culminates with a Women’s Health Conference & Business Expo on October 21

The City of Carson and the Carson Citizens Cultural Arts Foundation will be presenting the 8th Annual It’s All About Me” Women’s Health Conference and Business Expo themed, “Raising the Bar on Healthy Choices” as part of the month-long National Breast Cancer Awareness campaign to educate the community not just about breast cancer awareness but women’s overall health.

The conference and expo will take place on Friday, October 21 from 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Carson Event Center located at 801 E. Carson Street in Carson. Admission is $45 per person. Cost of admission includes light breakfast, panel discussion, workshops and lunch.

“As women we place our family’s care above our own. Today is a reminder that to give your best, you have to be at your best. It’s time to raise the bar and make healthy choices for yourself,” said City of Carson Mayor Lula Davis-Holmes.

National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, celebrated during the month of October, is a time to increase awareness and to raise funds for research into breast cancer’s cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure. The campaign also offers resources, information and support for those affected by breast cancer, recognizes their family and friends who provide love and support and also acknowledges the innovative, lifesaving work of doctors, researchers and other medical professionals.
