Carson Dial-A-Ride (DAR) program
provides reliable and affordable transportation to
Carson residents, who are at least 60 years old, and/or disabled adults
18 years of age or older. The service is available 24 hours a day; seven days a week, including holidays. The service is provided by taxi cabs and lift-equipped minivans.
COVID-19 UPDATE
As of June 1, 2021, the Transportation Services office is now open again to the public.

We also strongly recommend that current members make online payments to lessen travel and exposure to the virus.
REGISTRATION PROCESS
To become a Dial-A-Ride user, you must provide the following:
- A current California Driver's License OR Identification
card from the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV)
AND
- A current utility bill OR bank statement with your name
and address on it. Please ensure that your bill or
statement is dated within two months of your
application date. The addresses on your DMV ID and your
utility bill or bank statement must be the SAME address.
If you are married, only one name needs to be on the bill.
Property bills are unacceptable.
- Once your application is processed, a new membership
card will be mailed to you.

PAYMENT INFORMATION/OPTIONS
Upon acceptance of your application, you will receive a membership card within 20 days of submitting your application.
Trips are $2.00 per one-way trip,
and must be purchased in advance by cash or check, or online via credit card.
Cash and check payments must be mailed or dropped off at City Hall. Please call (310) 952-1757 for any questions
regarding payments.
Purchased trips do not expire, but they are NON-REFUNDABLE

WAIVERS
For those in need of additional trips for life-preserving treatments such as dialysis or chemotherapy, please contact Transportation Services for more information.
SERVICE AREA
Members can travel to and from any locations within the city limits as well as the extended boundaries (highlighted in yellow) for
ANY purpose including banking, shopping,
recreational, social, educational and/or medical. Extended boundaries include the area within Del Amo Blvd (North-side), Atlantic Blvd (East-side), Pacific Coast Highway (South-side), and Hawthorne Blvd (West-side).
Participants use the service to go to the SouthBay Pavilion for shopping, or to attend social and recreational events at the Congresswoman Juanita Millender-McDonald Community Center.
Members may travel outside of Carson to medical appointments in Gardena, Harbor City, Lomita, Long Beach, San Pedro and Torrance. Please click the DAR map link below to view the service map and 18 eligible satellite destinations.
Extended boundaries are highlighted in YELLOW. The area within Del Amo Blvd (North-side), Atlantic Blvd (East-side), Pacific Coast Highway (South-side) and Hawthorne Blvd (West-side) are eligible for Medical and/or Social Services appointments ONLY.
