Winners will be Announced LIVE on November 8th at SoFi Stadium
The Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC) has unveiled this year’s finalists for the prestigious Most Business-Friendly City Award, which will be presented at this year’s Eddy Awards® on November 8. The Eddy Awards is a distinguished gala event, encompassing a cocktail reception followed by a dinner, organized in support of LAEDC’s mission for reimagined Los Angeles regional economy – growing, equitable, sustainable, and resilient – that provides a healthy and high standard of living for all. This year’s Eddy Awards® will be emceed by Alex Cohen, host of Spectrum News’ “On the Issues” on November 8th on the field of Sofi Stadium. “The Most Business-Friendly City awards were established to acknowledge and illuminate the tireless and often unsung endeavors of city economic development staff. Their commitment is fundamental to creating prosperous business environments. These awards highlight their crucial role in our collective growth,” said Stephen Cheung, President and CEO of LAEDC. “Their dedication helps position the Los Angeles region not only as a leader within California but also as a global economic trailblazer. Our region’s 88 cities are the cornerstone of our region’s future, emphasizing equity, sustainability, and resilience. We honor these innovative cities and their dedication to our communities, and we hope their hard work will inspire other cities throughout the nation to build stronger and more resilient economies.” Since its inception in 1996, the LAEDC Eddy Awards® has also honored remarkable individuals, entities, and institutions that have significantly contributed to the inclusive economic development within the region. The Eddy Awards and the Most Business-Friendly City Award are selected to acknowledge commendable efforts in establishing conducive environments for businesses, fostering job opportunities, and community wealth-building. “The City of Carson would like to thank the LAEDC for recognizing our continued efforts as we strive to keep a business-friendly community,” said Mayor of Carson Lula Davis-Holmes. “With additions such as the Grant and Façade program, the (more) Incubator Program at CSUDH and redesigning the City’s website adding new content for businesses, we are on the track,” added Carson City Manager David L. Roberts. For more information, please visit: https://laedc.org/eddyawards2023/
