Press Releases Share Print #24-036 Carson Sheriff Station Welcomes New Captain Alise Norman Carson, CA – September 23, 2024 – The Carson Sheriff Station is proud to announce the appointment of Captain Alise Norman as its new captain. Captain Norman, a 28-year veteran of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to community engagement to her new role.Captain Norman began her distinguished career with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department in 1996. Over the years, she has served in various capacities within custody, patrol, and administrative operations. Her journey with the Carson Sheriff Station started in 2000 as a deputy sheriff, where she worked on community policing, crime investigation, and quality of life issues through the COPS and Park Enforcement Teams.In 2006, Captain Norman transitioned to the Training Bureau’s Academy, where she played a pivotal role in graduating over 1,000 deputy sheriff trainees and recruits. Her leadership skills were further recognized with her promotion to sergeant in 2009, where she supervised patrol personnel and specialized teams at the Carson Sheriff Station.Captain Norman’s career continued to flourish as she took on roles in the Risk Management Bureau and served as the chief’s aide for the Custody Services Division. Her dedication and professionalism led to her promotion to lieutenant in 2017, where she managed patrol operations at the Lomita and South Los Angeles stations.Carson Mayor Lula Davis-Holmes expressed her pride in Captain Norman’s selection, stating, “Captain Alise Norman’s extensive experience and unwavering dedication to our community makes her the perfect choice to lead the Carson Sheriff Station.
