Sanitary Sewer Management Plan
The State of California requires publicly owned sanitary sewer systems to develop and implement a Sewer System Management Plan (SSMP), including measures to control and mitigate sewer spills. The City maintains and periodically audits and updates its SSMP pursuant to the State requirements. You may access the City's current SSMP by clicking on the link below.
For any comments or questions regarding the SSMP, please contact Roland Jen at

Sanitary Sewer Maintenance
The sanitary sewer provides a vital resource in removing liquid waste from residences and businesses in the City. Outside of private property lines, the City owns these pipelines, which lead to nearby treatment facilities. The Consolidated Sewer Maintenance District of Los Angeles County (CSMD) provides maintenance for the City's sanitary sewer system, ensuring these pipelines remain safe and effective throughout the jurisdiction. Regular inspections, replacements, and repairs are performed to fix broken pipelines, clear blockages, and more. Additional information about CSMD can be found HERE.
For sewer-related problems, including overflows and blockages, contact CSMD as soon as possible.
