The Public Information Office(PIO) is a division under the City's new Sustainability, Innovation, and Performance Management Department. The objective of the Public Information Office is to promote a positive image for the City of Carson, and serve as a transparent and effective information link between the City, various governmental agencies, media, and the Carson community.

PIO partners with other city departments to create informational and promotional materials including our quarterly printed Carson Report & Parks, Recreation and Human Services Guide. The information is distributed through digital/social media, print media, and other channels. PIO directs publicity campaigns for all City events, handles media inquiries, coordinates the City's protocol policies, provides support to the Mayor and City Council, and provides staffing to the Public Relations Commission (PRC) and the Carson Sister Cities Association (CSCA)-- a membership-based Sister City organization.
