The Office of the City Manager provides the administrative leadership and direction necessary to translate City Council policies, priorities and all governing laws into an efficient and effective City government that reflects fiscal constraints while maintaining a positive economic climate, promoting a business‐friendly environment, and providing services necessary to ensure a high quality of life for the residents of Carson.

BIOGRAPHY

David C. Roberts, Jr., has over 22 years of private, public and federal experience while serving in multiple capacities of Administration (Human Resources & Finance), Risk Management, Community Services, Cable Television, Economic Development and Community Development & Block Grants (CDBG).

Originally hired by the city as the Assistant City Manager in 2018, David oversaw Community Services, Code Enforcement, Emergency Services, Information Technology, City Council staff and Public Information Office.

On February 15, 2022, Carson City Council appointed David C. Roberts, Jr. as their new City Manager from within their internal ranks. Mr. Roberts has proven to be a recognized leader with a vision to create the City of Carson an even better place to live, work and play.

David C. Roberts, Jr. has had an extensive and diverse career in a multitude of cities and government agencies. He has successfully taken on many significant responsibilities over the past few years in the City of Carson. His leadership will bring a positive direction for the city. Roberts holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from California State University, Long Beach. He is a United States Veteran who served in the United States Army as a Non-Commissioned Officer at the rank of Sergeant at Fort Irwin, California
