Beach Cities CAER
Carson also belongs to the Beach Cities Community Awareness and Emergency Response (CAER) organization. Beach Cities CAER combines the efforts of local officials, schools, industrial partners, and emergency responders to work together to get our community safe and prepared for industrial emergencies.

In the event of an airborne hazardous material release or other industrial emergency, you may be asked to "Shelter in Place" for your safety. For more information about what to do in case of this event, download and review this CAER Shelter in Place brochure and watch the video below.

Ready Carson
The preservation of life and property is an inherent responsibility of local, state and federal government. The City of Carson is committed to ensuring the most effective and efficient allocation of resources for the maximum benefit and protection of the civilian population in time of emergency.

The City Council gives its full support and urges all officials, employees, and citizens, individually and collectively, to do their share in the total emergency effort of the city. It is the responsibility of individuals and families to prepare in case of emergency. Like we have seen during the coronavirus pandemic, individual actions can make a big difference in how the community fares during and after a major disaster.

Find out more about how to get prepared by visiting Ready LA County which has information and guides on how to make a family emergency plan, keep emergency supplies, stay informed about disasters, and how to get involved in better preparing your community.
