It shall be unlawful to store any fireworks in any residence, home, garage, or automobile within the City of Carson.

Increased Fine Schedule:
Any person violating any provision of the municipal code may be issued an administrative citation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff or a Carson Code Enforcement Officer. Administrative citations are issued to anyone who is discharging, using, or possessing any illegal fireworks. Any and all fireworks that are NOT Safe and Sane are considered illegal. The enhanced fine schedule is $2,000 for the first violation, $3,000 for the second violation within one year from the date of the first violation, and $5,000 for each additional violation within one year from the date of the first violation.

The state of California Health and Safety Code (HSC) sections 12500 - 12534 provides additional information relating to fireworks and pyrotechnic devices. HSC section 12505 specifically identifies and defines dangerous fireworks.
