Illegal Fireworks

All Fireworks Are Illegal In the City of Carson.

Increased Fine Schedule:
Any person violating any provision of the municipal code may be issued an administrative citation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff or a Carson Code Enforcement Officer. The enhanced fine schedule is $2,000 for the first violation, $3,000 for the second violation within one year from the date of the first violation, and $5,000 for each additional violation within one year from the date of the first violation.

On June 4, 2024, City of Carson Council passed Resolution 24-050, which increases all fines by ten (10) percent if not paid or appealed within (15) fifteen days of the issuance date. In addition, the unpaid fines will accrue simple interest at ten (10) percent per year.

The state of California Health and Safety Code (HSC) sections 12500 - 12534 provides additional information relating to fireworks and pyrotechnic devices. HSC section 12505 specifically identifies and defines dangerous fireworks.
