It is extremely rare to be down in every major category. What makes this even more impressive is 2018 and 2019, represented our two lowest crime years prior to the unprecedented crime trajectory we are currently on.Captain Skeen attributes the encouraging statistics to the success of various enforcement strategies, the dedication of the deputies, professional staff, and investigators. Captain Skeen also credits the success to the engagement of the community and the support of the elected officials and city administration along with the Safer at Home Order associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. “We have the finest law enforcement agency in the country serving Carson. We are proud that during these unprecedented times that our crime statistics have gone down to new record lows thanks to the strong partnership between our community and the Sheriff’s Department,” said Carson Mayor Albert Robles. “We are most appreciative of the deputies’ daily efforts to ensure our residents are safe and LA County Sheriff Alex Villanueva’s leadership to make crime suppression and prevention his number one priority.” To know more about helping prevent crime in the community or volunteer or partnership opportunities, please contact the Carson Sheriff’s Station at (310) 830-1123 or contact the City of Carson Public Safety Division at (310) 952-1786.
