Dr. Khaleah K. Bradshaw
BIOGRAPHY
Khaleah Bradshaw is a natural born leader. Born and raised in Compton, Khaleah was taught early
on that it takes boldness and vision to create change. She has held leadership positions all throughout her academic and professional career such as student body vice president and chairing numerous higher education committees.
Khaleah moved to Carson at the age of 21. After transferring from Compton Community College, she received her bachelor's degree in English Literature and master's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a special topic of English Literature and Africana Political Thought from California State University, Dominguez Hills. She worked at her alma mater for over ten years serving as the Admissions Supervisor and the Director of Government and Community Relations.
In 2020, Khaleah received her doctorate degree in Educational Leadership from California State University, Long Beach. She graduated with honors.
On December 13, 2021, Khaleah was appointed by the Carson City Council to serve as the City Clerk; an appointment she received with great honor and humility.
She has stepped into this new role and is looking forward to building on the foundation that already exists as well as creating efficient procedures to enhance the work of the city clerk's office.
City Clerk's Office - Mission Statement

Operations of the City Clerk's Office:
- Conducts municipal elections as the Elections Official.
- Oversees the filing of conflict of interest statements and campaign finance statements, in accordance with the Political Reform Act of 1974, as the Filing Officer.
- Oversees the filing of lobbyist registration, in accordance with the Carson Municipal Code as the Filing Officer.
- Administers the Oath of Office to all city elected officials and the Loyalty Oaths and Affirmations to all appointed city officials, city employees, and members of the public.
- Prepares and maintains the official legislative record and dissemination of approved legislative actions by the City Council.
- Manages the official records, such as ordinances, resolutions, contracts, bonds, and sealed bids
- Oversees the posting and publication of public notices, as required by law.
- Receives and processes applications for appointment to City commissions, committees, and boards and maintains the membership roster.
- Manages and maintains the membership history for City-affiliated organizations and City Council Sub-committees.
- Accepts legal service on behalf of the City of Carson.
- Receives and processes public records act requests, as required under the California Public Records Act.
- Oversees updates to the Carson Municipal Code.
- Prepares and submits the departmental budget.
