David C. Roberts, Jr., has over 20 years of private, public and federal experience while serving in multiple capacities of Human Resources, Risk Management, Community Relations, Finance, Cable Television, Transportation, Economic Development and Community Development & Block Grants (CDBG). He holds a Bachelor's of Arts Degree from California State University, Long Beach. Mr. Roberts is also a United States Veteran who served in the United States Army as a Non-Commissioned Officer at the rank of Sergeant at Fort Irwin, California.

His public service began with the City of San Bernardino as a Human Resources Analyst where he assisted in the labor negotiations, employee relations, classification and compensation studies and administration of employee benefits. Most notably, he administered and conducted the City's first Decertification process with the largest represented union group. Additionally, he worked with the City Police and Fire Departments assisting in salary negotiations, employee relations, classification and compensation studies and benefits.

Mr. Roberts recently left the City of Hawthorne where he served as the Acting Assistant City Manager/Director of Human Resources. He oversaw the day to day operations of Human Resources, Public Information Office, Cable Television and CDBG. There, he implemented and accepted the call for the City of Hawthorne to be one of five cities to form the largest county cohort in the United States enacting President Barack Obama's My Brother's Keeper initiative.
