The Engineering Division provides a diverse array of services to the City of Carson including: the design, construction management, and operation of City-owned streets, bridges, traffic systems, stormwater, and storm drains. Engineering also conducts design, construction services, and record drawings for various Capital Improvement Projects throughout Carson. In addition, the division regulates, and issues permits for construction work, or other use of the public right-of-way. Engineering also provides review services for Development Projects, Permit Applications, provides inspection to verify conformance with the permit conditions, compliance with the latest City codes, and compliance with the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES). Engineering manages traffic control permits for any work within the public right-of-way; utility coordination; record drawing management; and provides technical support to other City departments.
