The City of Carson’s Youth Services is a division of the city’s Public Safety Department. Our objective is to assist minors and their families with issues regarding juvenile delinquency prevention and intervention. We work with minors 9-17 years-old. Youth who exhibit delinquent behavior may be referred to us by parents, schools, juvenile courts, the probation department, and/or law enforcement agencies.
Youth Services was created to assist Carson residents. We require that the minor: (1) reside in Carson, OR (2) received a citation or was arrested in Carson, OR (3) attends school in Carson. Minors that fit one of the above criteria are assigned to the Youth Services Officer (YSO) to case manage them by providing overall monitoring of their progress toward making positive changes in their lives. Once assessed by the YSO, case management may include: school and/or home visits, counseling and other referrals, on an as needed basis.
At this time, we offer a court approved, fee-based, program: Anger Management for Teens. It is taught as an after-school program at the City of Carson. See Youth Services Programs for tracks and age groups. Residents and non-residents are able to attend for a small fee.
